We are delighted to have teamed up with the Balule Game Reserve, part of Game Reserves United, to offer you the chance to EXCLUSIVELY sponsor a member of the Black Mambas anti-poaching unit. This is your chance to play a role on the front line of anti-poaching – without leaving your front room!

The Black Mambas are South Africa’s first all female anti-poaching unit, and they operate on the front line of the Balule coalition of private game reserves on the western border of the world famous Kruger National Park. The ladies day starts with checking the perimeter fences for signs of poaching activity. This is a 14 km walk in temperatures that can reach as high as 40C.

The team have enjoyed some initial success, contributing to a reduction in rhinos poached from 16 in 6 months to 3 in 11 months. Additionally, they have played a significant role in reducing snaring and poisoning activities by 76% in their area of operation during the first 18 months since their formation.

We have a choice of seven Black Mambas for you to sponsor and also three different tiers of sponsorship. All funds raised through the Sponsor a Black Mamba scheme will be sent to the Balule Game Reserve to help keep the Black Mambas operational and to help them expand into a larger area.

STANDARD SPONSORSHIP

ADVANCED SPONSORSHIP

£120 per year or £10 per month

(Aprox. US$190 / R2,500 / KES18,500)

As Standard tier plus essential operational equipment such as uniform, water bottles and radios for the Black Mambas team.

PREMIUM SPONSORSHIP

£360 per year or £30 per month

(Aprox. US$555 / R7,500 / KES56,500)

As Advanced tier plus help provide security to ensure the safety of the Black Mambas team.
