Lucy's Birthday Wish

Wednesday 28 October 2015

Lucy Todd is 8 years old and lives in Scotland. Even at such a young age Lucy has a huge passion for conserving the natural world and the wildlife that lives in it.

Lucy was so moved when she heard about how rhinos are being poached on a daily basis and threatened with extinction that she decided she wanted to do something to help.

Lucy recently enjoyed her 8th birthday, but rather than make a list of presents she would hope to receive, Lucy simply asked her friends to make a donation to Helping Rhinos instead of bringing her a present. Lucy did ask for one present from her Mum and Dad though – she wanted adopt Fatu, one of the last 4 northern white rhinos surviving on the planet today.

Here is a picture of Lucy proudly showing off her adoption certificate and her very own rhino toy, which she has already taken into school and told all her friends about rhinos and how they need our help.

We think Lucy’s story is incredibly inspirational, and doubly so for someone who is just 8 years old.

We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Lucy for her passion to save rhinos. It gives us hope and belief that with people like you in the world, rhinos and other endangered wildlife will have a future on our planet.

If you have been inspired by Lucy’s story, please get in touch with us to share your stories and how you are helping rhinos.
