Cornwall Coast and Clay 2016

Monday 26 September 2016

A perfect early Autumn day dawned in Cornwall as a record entry of 521 riders gathered in the beautiful grounds of Trewen Hall to set off on one of the 4 routes that traversed the stunning and extremely hilly narrow roads of Cornwall – 17 miles for the short route or 44, 71 and 101 miles on offer for the more adventurous.

We were thrilled to have so many representatives riding in our very own Helping Rhinos cycle jersey. Cornflake – the company that have been such a friend to Helping Rhinos were there in force. Twelve riders joined the throng, all sporting the HR jersey. What a statement they made and how brilliant the jersey looked as the group wound its way up and down the vicious climbs of a beautiful county.

Our Patron Phil (Liggett), set the riders on their way, the first group leaving at 07.30am, then he joined the masses to take in the coastline views from a high.

We are very happy to report all riders completed the course without mishap, somewhat weary, but elated. They vowed to be back next year for more of the same.

Join us next September and help us make an even stronger impact. Memorable, enjoyable, great company, great roads and routes and, most importantly great organisation and signage.

Huge thanks to Rotary of St. Columb Major for organising the event for the second year and making such a success of it. A fabulous day out.
