FREEDOM TO ROAM ADVENTURE 2021

Kariega Game Reserve, Eastern Cape, South Africa

23 - 29 August 2021

A truly unique opportunity awaits anyone who would like to join Helping Rhinos Patron, Phil Liggett (the Voice of Cycling) along with his wife Trish, Ambassador for Helping Rhinos, as they embark on a Freedom To Roam Adventure at Kariega Game Reserve in South Africa.

Freedom To Roam Adventures, a non-profit organisation founded by Trish, is partenring with Helping Rhinos and Kariega Game Reserve to share their love of Africa and conservation. FTRA raises funds for specific causes.  Experience, FTRA's passion for keeping Africa’s wildlife roaming freely in its natural habitat.

This Freedom To Roam Adventure has been made possible by the exceptional generosity of one of the finest family owned and operated Game Reserves in South Africa.  Kariega Game Reserve is a 10,000 hectare wilderness that incorporates five ecological zones and two majestic rivers and river valleys; the awe-inspiring Big 5* and an abundance of bird and varied wildlife.  It is the home of Thandi, the exceptional rhino that survived an horrific poaching incident in 2012.  Against all odds Thandi has subsequently mothered three calves, becoming a grandmother herself in 2020.  She is THE success story we had all hoped for.

“Our love for Africa and its wildlife has evolved over the 30 years we have been visiting South Africa.  Sadly we have witnessed at first hand the horrific consequences of wildlife poaching and watched in dismay as the numbers of truly iconic animals dwindle.”

Phil Liggett MBE
'Voice of Cycling'

By joining our ‘Adventure’ you will have the opportunity to meet Thandi and her growing family, along with the very people who cared for her during the dark days, including world renowned wildlife vet Dr. William Fowlds who treated Thandi with ground-breaking surgery that undoubtedly saved her life.

Thandi embodies the courageous and determined spirit needed to save the planet’s wildlife and wild spaces so they may roam freely.  By joining us you can play your part too.

Only 16 privileged guests will have this opportunity.
