Prudential My Ride London – Ride for Rhinos

Are you feeling energetic? Are you ready to make an impact on rhino conservation while also improving your fitness by cycling? 

Then this event might be just right for you. Prudential My Ride London have put on a cycling event to save the UK charities and we would like you to get involved to help rhinos! Conservation has been hit especially hard due to the ceasing of funds from tourism and we need your help in keeping rhinos safe. 

Participating is easy. Choose one of the four My Ride London Challenges, select Helping Rhinos as your chosen charity, grab your bike, skateboard, wheel chair or any other wheels and cycle on the 15-16th August. You can track your miles and times, as well as some other fun features, on their app, which you will be able to download ahead of the weekend. As soon as you have selected a challenge on myridelondon.co.uk you can start your fundraising through Virgin Money Giving. Signing up is completely free, so this is the perfect way to help rhinos this year!

Choose one of these four challenges and ride for rhinos!

  • My Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19: a 19-mile cycle-only ride for the casual cycler 
  • My Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46: a 46-mile cycle-only ride for the more experienced cycler
  • My Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100: a 100-mile cycle-only ride for experienced riders looking for a challenge
  • Freecycle: The perfect option to use any types of wheels and set your own distance (of over 1 km), for people who just want some fun while helping rhinos

How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy. Head to myridelondon.co.uk/register and select your challenge. The page will then forward you to the Virgin Money Giving Page, where you can set up your account and select Helping Rhinos as your chosen charity. 

How do I fundraise?

After signing up and creating your account, you can then start fundraising by sharing your page with friends and family. Some workplaces even have schemes to match your charity giving, so why not send them your page and inquire? If you need any help regarding fundraising or creating a fun and engaging page, drop us a message and we will be happy to assist! 

How old do I have to be to join? 

The challenges have different age requirements, but there is something for every age group. Download the MyRideLondon factsheet here to see all the age restrictions for each category! 

Can I join as a family? 

Cycling together and fundraising for Helping Rhinos can be such a fun family activity, so we fully support family sign ups. Please make sure to stick to the age requirements and then get started on fundraising together! 

How do I keep track of my miles? 

Prior to the weekend of the 15/16th of August, you will be able to download the Prudential My Ride London App to keep track of all your efforts and even receive some fun features like Selfie frames and certificates. 

How can I stay healthy during this cycle? 

We love that you are cycling to help rhinos, but we also want you to stay safe on your journey. If you do decide to ride as a group or family, please follow the current Covid-19 restrictions around social bubbles.
